What is RelayFax?

RelayFax is a powerful client/server email-to-fax and fax-to-email gateway product that integrates full faxing capabilities directly into your existing email system.

What Operating Systems will RelayFax 6.7.7 install on?
  • Microsoft Windows OS:
    • Windows XP (32-bit and 64-bit)
    • Windows Server 2003 (32-bit and 64-bit)
    • Vista (32-bit and 64-bit) (excluding Vista Home Edition)

    How do I send a fax with RelayFax?

    Compose an E-mail message and place the recipient's fax number anywhere on the "TO:" line or SUBJECT field. Use the RelayFax SMTP Client that comes with each version of RelayFax.

    Can I send an Attachment with RelayFax?

    Yes, with version 2.0 and up the RelayFax Server has the ability to extract attachments and fax them automatically.

    How do I receive a fax with RelayFax?

    Receiving a fax is also easy because RelayFax will detect and enable all of your fax modems when it is started. In addition, you can selectively configure modems that you may wish to use for only inbound fax monitoring. If you do not have any Inbound Rules setup, RelayFax will fold that message into an Email and Email that message to the Default Email address.

    Can I use my existing modem that is in my computer?

    Yes. There is no need to purchase an additional modem, although it is recommended if you have dedicated modems; one for Internet connections and one for RelayFax.

    Does RelayFax work with MDaemon?

    Yes. Although RelayFax can be used with any e-mail server, it has been specially designed to work exceptionally well with MDaemon 2.7 (and up) SMTP/POP3 e-mail server for Windows.

    What are the Outbound Rules used for?

    With the Outbound Fax Rules feature, you can setup rules that RelayFax will use to determine what to do with e-mail messages or documents that it receives. RelayFax will even monitor which port it receives the fax on.

    What are Inbound Rules used for?

    Inbound Fax Rules are used to tell RelayFax where to post incoming faxes.

    Can I change the Banner Text?

    Yes. Relay Fax will allow you to edit the Banner information.

    Can I create my own Cover Pages?

    Yes. Whenever a fax is sent, Relay Fax may attach a cover page to it. This cover page might be the default cover page or it could be a custom one created by you.

    Does RelayFax have an Address Book?

    Yes. Relay Fax contains a Fax Phone book file that can be used to store company names and fax numbers.

    Can RelayFax collect from more than 1 POP box?

    Yes. You will specify as many POP3 mail hosts from which the RelayFax Server is to collect mail.

    Does RelayFax send a Confirmation when my fax has been sent?

    Yes. Relay Fax is equipped with the ability to inform users of the status of their outgoing faxes. This message will inform them when their fax has been successfully delivered.

    Can I schedule when I want RelayFax to pickup the mail to be faxed ?

    Yes. The scheduling system in RelayFax allows you to specify exactly when and how often you want new mail to be collected and waiting outbound mail to be forwarded.

    Can RelayFax connect to my ISP by itself?

    Yes. Relay Fax can dial your ISP for you in order to collect mail from and post mail to remote mail servers.
