What is eScan?
eScan is an advanced, pro-active AntiVirus and Content Security solution to ensure that your systems are safe from viruses, spyware, adware, keyloggers, hackers, phishing, data theft, objectionable content and much more.


Can I install eScan on a stand alone computer?
Yes. Both eScan AV for Windows and eScan Internet Security for Windows are intended for stand alone machines.


I currently have eScan for Windows v11 license, will this work in v14?
No. You will need to upgrade your license. Please contact us for quote.

What is content security scanning?
Content Security means scanning all the incoming and outgoing traffic for restricted or prohibited content such as abusive words, confidential information, etc.


What is the difference between the Demonstration or Evaluation version of eScan and Fully Licensed eScan software?
The two software are actually identical. However, without a Licence Key eScan will expire (stop working) after 30 days from installation.


How do I convert an Evaluation software into a Licensed software?

How frequently is eScan's Virus Database updated?
MicroWorld's Web and FTP sites are normally updated once every day. On certain occasions, these may be updated more frequently, in response to a virus epidemic (e.g.- the Love-Bug virus).


What are the system requirements for eScan?
Client:
Processor: Pentium 100 and above Memory: 32 MB Ram Hard Disk space: 50 MB Free.
Server Platforms:
Processor: Pentium 100 and above Memory: 64 MB RAM Hard Disk space: 50 MB Free. CD ROM Drive TCP/IP network and Internet Connection.

Can eScan be installed on Terminal Server?
Yes. The eScan software is now compatible with Terminal Server.


Why can't I see the eScan icons in the system tray when I connect with a remote desktop connection to the eScan Server?
When you access a Windows2003 machine through RDP you are logged in as the same user but onto a different session. The current logged in user is not logged off as in XP. To get around this issue, please use the following command to remote desktop into the machine:

  1. Goto Start>>Run.
  2. Type in "mstsc -v <server-ip> /console" and press OK.

Why don't I have the "Proactive Scanning" option?
The Proactive Scanning is not available on 64bit systems.
